Inspired by the worn surfaces of everyday brass objects, I became fascinated by the unexpected blue tones that appeared when glass and brass were fused together in the kiln. What began as a material experiment soon became the foundation of my artistic practice. Rather than applying color to glass, I invite it to emerge naturally through the interaction of heat, metal, and time.

The surfaces that result are never completely predictable. Deep blues, muted greens, soft browns, and traces of black appear like the weathered patina of aged metal or stone, revealing quiet records of transformation. I continue to explore this dialogue between transparency and opacity, smooth glass and textured surfaces, precision and chance.

Working with glass and brass allows me to create forms that feel both contemporary and timeless. Each firing produces subtle variations that cannot be repeated, making every work a singular expression of the materials themselves. Across my different series—from sculptural kiln-cast works to re-fired blown glass—I explore a shared theme: the beauty that emerges through change.
